We proudly present our next packaging alternative: PONY JUST JUTE© needle cases made from one of the world’s most natural fibres and, with the environment in mind, without any additional outer packaging.

PONY JUST JUTE© can lead to a sustainable and efficient fight against plastic consumption, with the added benefit of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, lowering our carbon footprints, and finding new and alternative resources to fight climate change. As the method used for processing Jute has barely changed in a century, the cases are made with no chemicals and are completely biodegradable.



Jute plant grown in Bengal, India. The jute plant has an extremely low carbon footprint and is an amazing crop for the environment as the plants are rain fed and require no pesticides, or fertilisers, or irrigation.


After separating out the fiber from the plant, the fibers are dried in the sun. Jute stores a high amount of carbon and releases large quantities of oxygen into the air, even more than some trees do!


Bundles of dry jute are sent to textile factories and jute weaving mills. Jute weaving is as old as the ancient civilization of the Indus Valley and is mentioned in Sanskrit texts, the world’s oldest language recorded.

Jute is the environmentally friendly natural fibre with a very silky and golden sheen giving it the name the golden fibre. The jute fibre is very strong and durable and is therefore ideally suited for the production of the new Pony needle cases.

Jute is the sustainable alternative to plastic. Plastic decomposes slowly over hundreds of years and the resulting microplastic often ends up in the sea which greatly endangers animals and nature. Jute, on the other hand, has been known for thousands of years for its ecologically valuable properties and, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization, also contributes significantly to waste reduction.

Flex needles are a cross between straight needles and circular needles, consisting of knitting needles with a flexible cord and stopper so that you can rest your work in your lap. The SLICK set enables you to make your own Flex needles using the beautiful brass knobs. Simply screw the knob onto the end of the cable and the needle turns into a flex needle in an instant.

The needle size is engraved discretely on the needle shank, like exquisite jewellery, and the polished finish assures that the stitches glide smoothly on both needle and cable.
